Nance Appliance

The Nance Appliance is an orthodontic device used to prevent upper molars from rotating or moving forward, especially after the extraction of primary teeth or during orthodontic treatment. It consists of an acrylic plate, known as the button, which covers a section of the palate, and two metal bands that encircle the back teeth, securing them in position. This appliance is often used while patients await the eruption of their permanent bicuspids or premolars. Its primary function is to maintain the correct spacing in the mouth, ensuring that there is adequate room for the permanent teeth to emerge and align properly.
